Every chapter led me here

When my youngest daughter left for college, I found myself standing at the beginning of a chapter I hadn't thought much about- one where I finally had the time and space to ask myself, What's next for me?

Like many women, I had spent years focused on raising my family while quietly setting some of my own professional aspirations aside. It wasn't a sacrifice I regretted. It was simply the season of life I was in, and one I cherished. But as I settled into the quiet of an empty house, I realized I had an opportunity to rediscover something that had always been part of me: my love of psychology, education, and helping others grow.

Looking back, it's easy to see the common thread. Over the years, I've been a tennis coach, a psychologist, a researcher, a college professor, a Montessori teacher, a parent educator, and now a health and wellness coach. To someone looking at my résumé, those experiences might seem like a collection of unrelated careers. But they never felt unrelated to me. It wasn't until recently that I realized every one of those roles had been preparing me for this moment. Each one taught me something about how people learn, change, overcome challenges, and ultimately flourish.

As I reflected on what I wanted this next chapter of my life to look like, I kept coming back to the same idea: I wanted to combine psychological science with health and wellness in a way that felt practical, evidence-based, and deeply personal. I also knew I wanted to approach wellness differently. Too often, we're told there's a single formula for living well. Follow this plan. Build these habits. Think this way. But people aren't formulas. Each of us brings our own strengths, values, experiences, and goals. While psychological science offers powerful insights into well-being, the path to flourishing is deeply personal. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

That's why I created Serenta.

Serenta is where the many chapters of my career finally come together. It's a place where psychology-informed education, evidence-based wellness, and a genuine belief in human potential meet with one purpose: helping women intentionally create healthier, more meaningful, and more fulfilling lives. To me, flourishing means living at your highest level. It means identifying what matters most, aligning your life with those values, and continuing to grow into the person you're capable of becoming. Not perfectly- but intentionally.

Through this blog, I'll share ideas from psychology, positive psychology, wellness science, and my own experiences, always with the goal of making research practical and applicable to everyday life. More than anything, I hope you leave here feeling hopeful. I hope you see new possibilities for yourself, embrace the opportunities that come with each new season, and remember that growth doesn't have an expiration date.

Sometimes all it takes is a new chapter to rediscover the parts of ourselves that were there all along.

Welcome to Serenta. I'm so glad you're here.
